The Orlando Magic and Miami Heat will play in an Eastern Conference matchup on Monday evening. It's time to continue our NBA odds series and make a Magic-Heat prediction and pick.

The Magic and Heat have very different goals this season. The Magic have one of the youngest rosters in the NBA, and figure to be among the teams that have the best odds for the No. 1 pick when the NBA Draft Lottery rolls around next Summer. The Heat on the other hand brought in Kyle Lowry this offseason and are looking to get back to the NBA Finals behind the play of him, Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo.

Here's how the bookmakers have set the Magic-Heat odds for this Monday matchup.

NBA Odds: Magic-Heat Odds

Orlando Magic +12.5 (-108), +700 ML

Miami Heat -12.5 (-112), -1100 ML

Over 210.5 points (-110)

Under 210.5 points (-110)

Why The Magic Can Cover The Spread

The Magic are in a really tough spot, as they played last night at  the New York Knicks before traveling back south to Miami. The Magic picked up their first win of the season in upset fashion over the Knicks on Sunday, with Terrance Ross scoring 22 points (all in the fourth quarter) to help close out Orlando's first win of the season. Orlando will be without Markell Fultz, Michael Carter-Williams, and potentially Gary Harris, who is questionable, on Monday vs. the Heat. They are also still without probably their best overall player in Jonathan Issac, who is still rehabbing from a left ACL tear. If the Magic want to cover on Monday, they will need to hope they have some legs left over on the back-to-back, and they'll need to make a lot of three-pointers to keep up with a Heat.

Why The Heat Can Cover The Spread

This is the closest thing on the schedule to an automatic win the Heat might have all year. A team as talented as Miami facing an undermanned Magic team on the second night of a back-to-back should probably be against league rules. Tyler Herro is playing well so far for the Heat this season, and the usual suspects of Butler and Adebayo have also been doing their thing on the court. Lowry is questionable for Miami on Monday vs. the Magic, but even if he doesn't go, the Heat should have no trouble at all handling the Magic on Monday night. The Heat have been playing well early in the season despite an overtime loss to the Indiana Pacers in their last game, and they should have no problem covering on Monday night vs. the young and undermanned Magic.
