Crystal Palace will be hosting Leeds United at Selhurst Park this Monday in a game that could influence the relegation battle in a major way. With that said, it’s a good time to check out our Premier League odds series, which includes our Crystal Palace-Leeds prediction and pick we have laid out below.

Selhurst Park will be witnessing somewhat of a lower table derby between Crystal Palace and Leeds United. Crystal Palace is entering this game with two losses in a row, losing to Leicester City and Newcastle in a somewhat close fashion. Still, fairly recently, they beat both top four hopefuls Arsenal and contenders for European football Wolverhampton, so they have some confidence coming in. Leeds fired coach Marcelo Bielsa and it proved to be a huge boost to the club, as they linked four games without a loss for the first time this season. Three of the matches were wins, so Leeds enter this game very hopeful for their Premier League life.

Why Crystal Palace Could Win This Match

Crystal Palace has been very volatile this season. This team has had some terrible runs, like recording just two wins from the 20th of November last year until the 19th of February this year. Additionally, they had some good moments, like the aforementioned win against Arsenal, where they dominated and routed the Gunners 3-0 at home. They have a ton of talent, but they are a team of runs.

That does not bode well for them right now, as they have two losses in a row. It was two losses by one goal, and it was a valiant effort by Palace in the second half of the Leicester game, but it is still a poor run by the club. However, before that, they linked five games without defeat. That run included both the win against Arsenal and a 0-0 draw at home with Manchester City. What can be a huge positive for Crystal Palace is the fact they are playing at home. The only two teams that took all three points from Selhurst Park are Liverpool and Chelsea.

Due to the strength of their roster, Crystal Palace really should not even be close to the relegation battle. They have players like Wilfried Zaha, Conor Gallagher, and Cheikhou Kouyaté, all fairly solid Premier League players. With those kinds of players and with the fact they are playing at home, Crystal Palace have a good chance of winning this match.

Why Leeds Could Win This Match

Leeds United controversially fired their, now former, coach Marcelo Bielsa on the 27th of February. Despite two losses right after the firing, Leeds then went on a serious run, linking four unbeaten with three wins. The only draw came at home to Southampton, but the only goal scored for the Saints in that game was a James Ward-Prowse free kick. In their other three games in this run, Leeds scored two late winners through Joseph Gelhardt against Norwich and Luke Ayling against Wolverhampton. That shows a resilience that the Leeds fans can be proud of.

The biggest reason why Leeds can win this match is the fact that they are fighting for their Premier League survival. A Premier League staple just a few decades back, Leeds is now considered a fairly newly promoted side, coming back up to the Premier League in the 2020/2021 season. After finishing 9th in that season, this year has been a different story. After their fans tasted Premier League football at Elland Road again, they will be pushing their team to not lose it as fast.

That all being said, an important reason why Leeds could win this match is also their talent. Their position, similar to the case of Everton, is misleading. There are some great talents on the roster, such as Kalvin Phillips, Raphinha, Rodrigo, and others. Leeds just had a case of a poor run of form and maybe a case of wrong tactics by former manager Bielsa. Now, with this form and with the same roster, Leeds should be winning these types of games.

Final Crystal Palace-Leeds Prediction & Pick

As tough as it seems to pick the winner of this match, it is fairly simple. Crystal Palace is still safer than Leeds and have eight points more than Everton, the last team in the relegation spots. Thus, Leeds have more to play for, and considering their form, they should be conquering Selhurst Park on Monday. Our final Crystal Palace-Leeds prediction is a Leeds win away from home.

Final Crystal Palace-Leeds Pick: Leeds: (+240)
