The Minnesota Timberwolves take their five-game win streak into the bay area as they take on the Golden State Warriors. This game will continue our NBA odds series as we hand out a Timberwolves-Warriors prediction and pick. We will also let you know how to watch the game.

The Timberwolves, as mentioned, are on a five-game win streak. They have been playing very well lately, and they are doing it on both ends of the court. Minnesota is led by Anthony Edwards through these first eight games. He is averaging 27.9 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 5.2 assists per game. Karl-Anthony Towns is averaging 19.9 points, and 8.8 rebounds. Rudy Gobert is averaging a double-double, as well.

The Warriors are 6-4, but they have lost their last two games. Steph Curry is having himself an awesome year as he is scoring 30.0 points per game. Klay Thompson is the second leading scorer on the team with 16.1 points per game. Four other players are averaging in the double-digits, but they could definitely use some more production. Chris Paul has been solid off the bench for the Warriors. He is averaging 8.8 points, but he also leads the team with 7.5 assists per game.

Why The Timberwolves Could Cover The Spread

Minnesota is one of the hottest teams in the NBA right now. They are healthy, and they are playing very good basketball. The Timberwolves have looked like a real threat in the Western Conference as the season is getting started. Without even looking at stats, the Timberwolves seem like a good bet to cover the spread. Anthony Edwards is a problem this year, and the big men on the team are able to be tough in the paint. If Minnesota just continues to play as they have been on their win streak, they will cover the spread.

Now, looking at the stats, Minnesota has arguably the best defense in the league. They give up the least amount of points per game at just 102.8. Minnesota also allows the lowest field goal percentage, and second-lowest three point percentage. The Warriors are a team that can get hot at any moment from anywhere on the court, so Minnesota needs to continue this defensive pressure. If they can do that, the Timberwolves will cover the spread.

Why The Warriors Could Cover The Spread

Golden State needs to match the defensive intensity of the Timberwolves. It is going to be very hard to put up points in this game, so the Warriors will have to play well. Golden State allows just 110.9 points per game, which is the 10th-lowest in the NBA. The Warriors will have to keep that up. If they can hold the Timberwolves to under 110 points, Curry will be able to lead them to a win.

Final Timberwolves-Warriors Prediction & Pick

This is going to be a close game, and a fun one to watch. Edwards versus Curry is a matchup that is must-watch right now. As for the winner, I am going to roll with the hot hands in this game. That is the Minnesota Timberwolves. I think they will cover this spread, and maybe even win the game.

Final Timberwolves-Warriors Prediction & Pick: Timberwolves +2 (-108), Over 220.5 (-114)
