It goes without saying that the 2018 NFL Draft is expected to be one of the more quarterback-heavy affairs in recent history. As a result, teams are clamoring to get in position to acquire a potential franchise quarterback for the future.Among them seem to be the Buffalo Bills.

Unfortunately, according to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, general manager Brandon Beane may have a hard time doing so with the 12th overall pick in the draft.

“Brandon is trying like hell to get up and get a quarterback,” the NFL GM told La Canfora. “I'm convinced he'll trade up twice more if he has to. It reminds me of (Eagles general manager) Howie (Roseman) a few years ago (when he was moving up to land Carson Wentz).”

The Bills essentially scrapped their quarterback position this NFL offseason when they traded Tyrod Taylor. They are now left with two career backups in AJ McCarron and Nathan Peterman. That said, Buffalo is in desperate need of some hope under center. At this point in the offseason, the only way to do that is through the NFL Draft.

However, relying on a trade such as the one Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman pulled off is quite risky. It is unlikely that any team currently in the top-five would be willing to trade back to the 12th overall pick in the draft. Like the Eagles, the Bills may need to find a way to potentially meet a team like, say, the New York Giants halfway in order to come to a deal.
