Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy is coming off of an incredibly rough 2018 campaign in which he rushed for just 514 yards while averaging a meager 3.2 yards per carry, and ESPN doesn't think he will have a Renaissance year in 2019.

ESPN is predicting that McCoy will finish with just 701 yards and three touchdowns on the ground this coming season, recording just 3.9 yards per attempt. It also has him catching 32 passes for 251 yards.

While those numbers are better than the dismal stats that McCoy posted this past season, they are still a far cry from McCoy's prime where 1,000 yards and 4.5 yards per carry seemed to be automatic.

Given that McCoy turns 31 years old in July, you can see why ESPN has so much trepidation about him heading into 2019. We know what tends to happen to running backs once they hit 30, and McCoy's miserable 2018 campaign was concrete evidence of that trend.

McCoy is actually just two years removed from racking up 1,138 yards and six scores, but his decline was also evident that season, as he tallied only four yards per attempt, representing the lowest mark of his career prior to 2018.

Now, McCoy will have to share the Bills backfield with another past-his-prime veteran in Frank Gore, who spent his 2018 season with the Miami Dolphins and rushed for 722 yards. Unlike McCoy, however, Gore was efficient, posting 4.6 yards per carry.

McCoy spent the first six seasons of his career with the Philadelphia Eagles before being traded to Buffalo in 2015. He has made six Pro Bowl appearances while also earning a pair of First-Team All-Pro selections.
