After some back and forth throughout the offseason, the Buffalo Bills and Josh Allen have finally agreed to terms on a contract extension.

As noted, the deal for Allen and the Bills runs through 2028 and includes $150 million guaranteed.

Allen burst onto the scene in 2020 and became one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. He even garnered MVP attention after leading the Bills to the AFC East crown and back into the postseason.

There had been questions and plenty of doubters early in Allen's career as to how he would develop or if he would stick to being just a guy with a big arm. He put a ton of those questions to rest last season with a major breakout year where he showed off that big arm, but plenty of accuracy and correct decision making as well. He has quickly leapfrogged into the top couple tiers of quarterbacks in the league. As a result, the Bills are forking over major money.

It was a no-brainer decision for the Bills to make, the numbers just needed to satisfy both ends and now they have. With Stefon Diggs back in the mix and the addition of Emmanuel Sanders, Buffalo's offense could be as dynamic as it has been in a long time.

Buffalo will look to take another big step forward this year as they look to repeat as AFC East champions and then try and get past the conference championship. With Allen locked to the Bills for the long run, there should be plenty of Super Bowl caliber years to come in Buffalo.
