Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen was vocal in showing his support to North Dakota State gunslinger Trey Lance who is set to make the jump to the league in the upcoming 2021 NFL Draft. The former told the latter that he should ignore the noise and just focus on doing his thing in order to silence the haters who are doubting his capabilities to be an effective quarterback in the NFL.

“Trey, what's up, man? Josh Allen with the Bills here. Let me tell you something,” Allen said in the Take The Stage series. “You're always going to have doubters. I've heard it all before. You're not good enough to play quarterback in the NFL. You're untested. Your competition is too weak.”

“Ignore them. Get on the field and let your game do the talking. It's time to make some noise, Trey.”

Unlike other blue-chip talents, Josh Allen took a different route as he played for a lesser-known university in Wyoming as a signal-caller in the collegiate ranks. His three-year career with the Cowboys was enough to create buzz as he was eventually selected with the seventh overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.

Meanwhile, Lance also finds himself in a similar situation. He suited up for North Dakota State for a total of three years and made a name for himself by notching  2,786 passing yards on 192 completions to go with 28 touchdowns through 16 games played in the 2019 season.

Lance's stellar performance led him to be hailed as the Missouri Valley Football Conference Offensive Player of the Year. He even won the Jerry Rice Award, and Walter Payton Award, as he steered his team to the NCAA FCS Championship in 2019.

However, he would only suit up in one game for the 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic as he opted to use his time to prepare for the 2021 NFL Draft instead. Certainly enough, there will always be talks regarding Lance's ability to perform in a stiffer competition which he failed to encounter during his amateur career.

Despite the odds, getting to witness the level of success that Josh Allen has attained in the league will definitely serve as motivation for Lance to follow in his footsteps and prove that he can be a star in the league sooner than later.
