Nearly a week into the free agency period, the available talent on the market has dwindled down. However, there are still many proven players waiting to sign new contracts for the 2018 season and make a difference for their teams. Among those players still available in free agency is veteran linebacker Karlos Dansby, who is coming off his 14th year in the league.

According to Field Yates of ESPN, the 36-year-old is reportedly met with the Buffalo Bills on Tuesday afternoon.

Dansby just wrapped up his third stint with the Arizona Cardinals, where he remained highly productive by recording 95 total tackles, a forced fumble, and an interception while playing in all 16 regular season games. Although he is now in his mid-30s, he is still a highly productive player, putting up his 11th straight campaign with at least 90 total tackles. He is also one of five players in NFL history with at least 40 sacks and 20 interceptions.

His addition to the Bills would bring some much-needed stability and experience to the linebacker core to help further solidify their front seven.

Buffalo is looking to find a replacement for middle linebacker Preston Brown, who led the team last season with a career-high and league-leading 144 tackles. He recorded more than 100 tackles in each of his first four seasons, all spent with the Bills. Brown decided to sign a one-year, $4 million deal with the Cincinnati Bengals last week.

Dansby marks the third linebacker that the Bills have brought in to visit this offseason after Kevin Minter and Will Compton. The front office will likely hone in on the 15th-year veteran to try and sign him to a short-term deal to at least have stability at the position for next season, and possibly beyond that. Last year, the Bills struggle tremendously at times defensively, ranking 26th overall, 20th against the pass, and 29th against the run.
