The Buffalo Bills enter the season with a significantly different roster, and one of the new faces on the team is rookie Keon Coleman. A wide receiver out of Florida State, Coleman was selected as the 33rd overall pick in the recent draft. Josh Allen seems to be excited about playing with the youngster. In a recent appearance on The Insiders, the Bills' QB1 spoke on why Coleman is an expected fit on the team.

“I think that his (Coleman's) play style is what we needed in our offense,” Allen said, per NFL Network's Mike Garafolo. “Talking with our OC (offensive coordinator), our quarterback coach, Brandon Beane and obviously Coach McDermott, (Coleman is) a guy that’s a big-body guy, a guy that can go win on a back-shoulder fade and is not afraid to be a physical wide receiver. And then again, I think you pair him with some of the guys that we have in our room right now…We’re gonna have a pretty solid group that works together, and ultimately they work their tails off, which is fun to have.”

Keon Coleman spent his first two collegiate years at Michigan State, where his breakout year came as a sophomore. In 2022, the wide receiver tallied 798 yards and 13.8 yards per catch in 12 games. He also added seven touchdowns to his name.

Last year, Coleman transferred to the Seminoles, where he caught 50 passes for 658 yards and 11 touchdowns. He was a big reason for Florida State's undefeated regular season. Unfortunately, the ‘Noles were arguably the biggest snub during the previous CFP selection. They would finish their campaign with an Orange Bowl appearance instead.

Going back to Coleman, the 21-year-old joins a Bills team that saw plenty of major changes during the offseason. In the wideout room, the team shipped away Steffon Diggs to the Houston Texans for a 2025 second rounder. Additionally, Gabe Davis departed the team and signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Coleman will now be playing alongside Khalil Shakir and newly-signed additions such as Curtis Samuel, Mack Hollins and Marquez Valdes-Scantling.

Besides the Diggs, Davis and offensive lineman Mitch Morse, everything else is intact on the offensive end's first group. Eight starters from last year will be suiting up again come September.

On the defensive side, however, Buffalo lost Pro Bowlers such as Jordan Poyer and Tre’Davious White. Additionally, safety Micah Hyde, cornerback Dane Jackson and EDGE rusher Leonard Floyd also parted ways with the team.

Besides safety Mike Edwards, there have been no other notable outside signings (on defense). Nevertheless, the team is still expected to be the AFC East favorites, especially with Josh Allen at the helm once again. As for the new faces and the returning players, “next man up” is the current motto as they'll be tasked to step up in place of those who left.
