Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy’s name is in the headlines for all the wrong reasons recently after the stunning domestic violence accusations made by a friend of his girlfriend. McCoy quickly denied having any part in the incident which left his girlfriend with some gruesome facial injuries.
But while it may be true that McCoy wasn’t present during the apparent home invasion which led to her beating, he may have been right in the middle of it, which is what a statement released by the attorneys of Delicia Cordon is basically saying:
Article Continues Below“The assailant demanded specific items of jewelry that had been previously gifted to Ms. Cordon by Mr. McCoy, which Mr. McCoy had requested back on many occasions,” the statement read. “In fact, after Ms. Cordon refused to return her jewelry gifts to Mr. McCoy, he would often suggest to Ms. Cordon that she could be robbed because the jewelry was expensive.”
The clear implication of the statement is that McCoy basically orchestrated the break-in, assault, and robbery of his girlfriend, which is stunning to even contemplate. If that incredible claim is found to be true, then it’s likely that McCoy’s NFL career is probably over. It’s hard to believe he can come back if he’s proven to be in the middle of something so heinous.
The Bills and the NFL are still conducting their investigations on the matter. Until the investigations are concluded and all the information is verified, it’s probably best to withhold definitive judgment either way regarding this whole unfortunate situation.
