There have been rumors circulating today that Le'Veon Bell could be headed to the Bills. Unfortunately for Buffalo fans, they appear to be exactly that, rumors. “Just rumors. Nothing to it,” a Bills source told Tim Graham of The Athletic Buffalo.

The Bills almost pulled off a trade for Antonio Brown, so they clearly aren't afraid to be bold. But Bell to the Bills never made much sense for a variety of reasons. For starters, Buffalo already has a very crowded backfield. They already have LeSean McCoy as their featured back, and just signed Frank Gore to provide additional help.

We still don't know where Bell is going yet, but we're starting to get a better idea. Most reports have Bell choosing between the Ravens and Jets, and some say the Ravens aren't interested at all. The Jets have reportedly given Bell a deadline by which he must accept their offer, or they're going to move on.

The Raiders have also been brought up as a suitor, as there's been speculation Jon Gruden is interested in reuniting Bell and Brown in Oakland. Buffalo also wouldn't have mad much sense because of the culture head coach Sean McDermott is trying to establish there.

McDermott is all about team first guys and isn't the type of coach to want a media distraction like Bell. That's what made their interest in Brown surprising, but they were starved for receiver help, so it made more sense. The Bills don't have a pressing need at running back, so there's no real reason for them to break the bank for Bell. It's possible floating teams like the Bills was just a leverage play by Bell's agent to try and get more money from the Jets or whoever else.
