The Buffalo Bills are 5-2 in 2019. That's a really good start to the season. However, that does not mean they don't have areas that could use improvement.

Due to that, it was pretty surprising that the Bills made zero moves at the trade deadline.

According to Matt Parrino of newyorkupstate.com, head coach Sean McDermott spoke about that lack of moves.

“If there’s not a responsible move for us to make we’re not gonna make it,” McDermott said. “There’s been way too many years of irresponsible decision-making, let’s just put it that way.”

“At the end of the day, you guys know we’re going to do things that are in the best interest of this organization, short and long term. We didn’t find something that would be responsible for us to do.”

McDermott makes a lot of sense with these comments. Obviously, it is frustrating as a fan of a team when they don't make moves that could help them improve. However, it's probably even more frustrating when they make the wrong moves.

That's something that McDermott seems to be alluding to. At times, the Bills have made bad moves in the past. That can cripple a team.

Now they feel they are in the a good position. While they probably looked for moves, nothing right came their way. Either the price was too high or the players they wanted were not made available.

Don't make moves just to make them. That's when they start to backfire on you.

McDermott and the Bills seem to feel that way. Buffalo has a great defense and an offense with young talent that could help them for years to come. No need to break them apart just to make an ill-advised move at the trade deadline because everyone expected you to.
