A promising season for a blossoming Buffalo Bills squad took a horrific turn on Thursday night. Against the New Orleans Saints in Week 12 of the NFL, star Bills cornerback Tre'Davious White suffered a scary-looking injury on a routine play.

Here's the play that caused White's injury. It was a routine play where the Bills cornerback was covering his man… but then White's knee buckled in an unnatural position. He came up limping and looked to be in significant pain. (via Jason McIntyre)

It looks to be a serious injury, as both the Bills and PFF injury analyst Mario Pilato fear the worst for the cornerback's knee. Pilato, in particular, thinks that White could have potentially suffered an ACL injury, one of the most terrifying injuries in all of sports.

It's a devastating blow to a team that has mostly stayed clear of any major injuries during the entire season. White was a significant reason for the Bills' success this season, as he's been having a stellar year before this injury. If the cornerback does end up with an ACL tear or something of similar magnitude, it could be a spoiler to what looks to be the Bills' breakout season.

Hopefully, nothing serious happened to Tre'Davious White's knee. Setting aside the fact that this injury could jeopardize the Bills' season, a major injury could also derail what is looking to be a promising career for the young cornerback. Best of luck to White.
