For those who have still been living under a rock, Damian Lillard is more than just a baller in the NBA. Besides his professional career in basketball, Lillard is known for rapping as well. As a matter of fact, he has released three studio albums under his rap name, Dame D.O.L.L.A. Namely, The Letter O (2016), Confirmed (2017), and BIG D.O.L.L.A. (2019).

With that being said, NBA2K just tweeted a TikTok of Dame D.O.L.L.A. with a sample of the in-game soundtrack that will be featured on NBA 2K21. In the video, the track is titled “Did To It” which features Lillard and Brookfield Duece. Lillard also asked for fans to comment on the video with their favorite artist. This news was quick to gain traction with 60 Retweets/comments and 400 Likes as of the time of writing. In addition, the TikTok video itself has made over 213.1K likes and 15.3K comments in the past seven hours.

Notably, this also marks history wherein this is the first time that music for the game was produced by an NBA player as well. As for the released track, the pairing comes at no surprise as Lillard and Duece share some history collaborating together with songs such as “Dre Grant” and “They Sleep.”

However, the move by NBA 2K didn't receive the warmest welcome as the Twitter world was apparently expecting more significant news from the franchise. It appears that fans would much rather see updates regarding footage, features, or actual gameplay.

As much as Lillard can drop fire on the court and on the mic, the NBA 2K franchise itself may have to step up its game as well and give the people what they want.
