Yahoo Sports' Chris Haynes recently reported several factors that could potentially push Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard out the door, including a drama-filled coaching search and questions about an ability to build a championship contender around him. While another report from ESPN's Brian Windhorst suggests Lillard won't actually ask out (at least not yet), the Blazers should be on alert.

However, Blazers general manager Neil Olshey downplayed Haynes' report during a disastrous Tuesday press conference to introduce Chauncey Billups, whose hiring sparked backlash because of a rape allegation in 1997. While much of the focus will rightly be on the deflection of questions on the allegation and the investigation into it, Olshey also essentially made light of Haynes' reporting on Lillard:

Olshey can say whatever he wants here, but everybody knows Haynes has a direct line to Lillard. If Haynes is reporting something on Lillard, it's a good bet that it's legit. Perhaps there are some semantic differences, but it's hard to doubt Haynes' reporting on this subject.

Things have been quite a mess in Portland of late. The decision to hire Chauncey Billups has been met with plenty of hate, with Lillard receiving some of the backlash himself because of his endorsement of the new head coach. The Blazers star supposedly didn't know about the allegation against Billups, per Haynes, and he got upset at the fans for coming after him so hard.

Tuesday's press conference isn't going to help the perception of the Blazers, and it will be interesting to see how this all plays out.
