The Portland Trail Blazers are doing everything in their power to keep Damian Lillard in town. Dame appears to be open to carrying on with his legacy with the Blazers, and under this premise, the team is now scrambling to add some firepower alongside Lillard to improve their chances in the upcoming season.

According to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports, Golden State Warriors star Kelly Oubre Jr. is currently on Portland's radar, along with Denver Nuggets veteran Paul Millsap:

“I expect Damian Lillard to go and play for the Portland Trail Blazers,” Haynes said in a recent appearance on the Posted Up podcast, via Drew Schiller of NBC Sports. “I believe he wants to give [head coach] Chauncey Billups a chance, and I think he's gonna go there [and] give the roster a shot.

“And Portland's probably still not done. I'm hearing Paul Millsap is a guy they're looking at [and] I hear Kelly Oubre [is] a guy that they're looking at.”

Oubre is currently a free agent, and while the Warriors appear open to the possibility of bringing back the 25-year-old next season, they might not be able (or willing?) to match Oubre's asking price in free agency. The Blazers, on the other hand, could make a deal work, and Oubre could be a good fit for this current Portland roster.

It is worth noting, however, that Oubre has also been linked to several other teams, with the Charlotte Hornets — among others — also rumored to be a potential destination. Needless to say, Oubre is a wanted man, and there are a number of teams around the league lurking. The Blazers will need to act swiftly if they're serious about their interest in the 6-foot-7 swingman.
