Ahead of his heavyweight title clash with Oleksandr Usyk, Anthony Joshua’s weakness has been revealed.
Before being slated for a bout against Oleksandr Usyk, British boxing superstar Anthony Joshua was very serious about living up the hype of a heavyweight superfight against Tyson Fury.
In fact, Joshua even brought in unbeaten heavyweight boxing sensation Steve Robinson as a sparring partner who would “replicate” Fury as he prep up for the match.
“I was there to replicate Tyson Fury, but unfortunately that fight fell through, and he's now fighting [Oleksandr] Usyk,” Robinson exclusively told Give Me Sport.
“Hopefully he'll blast Usyk out, then both sides will sort everything out, and I'll be a part of his camp again,” he added.
But what’s even more interesting was Robinson’s shocking revelation about Joshua’s character.
Having held the IBF, WBA, IBO and WBO heavyweight titles, only few would think that AJ has a big hole in his game. However, Robinson divulged that inside the ring, Joshua is unstoppable, but outside of it, there’s a weakness he has been working on.
According to Robinson, despite all his accomplishments, Joshua is just like any other boxer who still “doubts himself.”
“I think speaking to Anthony [Joshua], he doubts himself,” the undefeated heavyweight revealed. “Any boxer who doesn't doubt themselves, I don't believe it, I think every boxer has a bit of self doubt in their head.”
“Anthony says it's something he suffers with, doubting himself and all that self doubt,” he added.
Joshua will be taking on Usyk this weekend in a highly-anticipated heavyweight bout at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium at Tottenham.
