The boxing exhibition between undefeated champion Floyd Mayweather and YouTube celebrity Logan Paul will indeed be happening in the near future.

Eric Woodyard of ESPN reported promoters still have every intention of booking the fight, with a new announcement date expected “soon.”

The bout was originally scheduled for Feb. 20, but it was postponed earlier this month. Fanmio founder and CEO Solomon Engel previously promised some “new exciting details,” per Woodyard.

Paul was set to host the fight with Fanmio, which was slated to be streamed on pay-per-view. It is unknown what new developments have transpired in the three weeks since postponement.

Mayweather has not fought since New Year's Eve 2018 when he defeated kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa. The 50-0 fighter earned a TKO victory over mixed martial arts star Conor McGregor prior to the Nasukawa fight. Paul has just one amateur fight under his belt, losing a six-round decision to fellow YouTuber KSI.

For his part, Mayweather does not seem very concerned, saying recently he has not been training for the bout:

“Well, I'm not in training but I always try and maintain my weight and keep my body in some type of good condition,” Mayweather said, via The Sun.

“I'm not in the best shape of my life but I'm in good shape. I can take my shirt off at the beach.”

Floyd Mayweather has also stated the postponement is partially due to the fact both he and Logan Paul want a live crowd in attendance.

That could mean the bout will take place sometime this summer. An announcement on that matter figures to happen here shortly.
