Tyson Fury has finally broken his silence on the Oleksandr Usyk low blow controversy.
Usyk successfully defended his heavyweight titles with a ninth-round TKO win over Daniel Dubois this past weekend in Poland. However, the fight was not without controversy.
While Usyk dropped Dubois twice en route to the victory, the Ukrainian was dropped by a low blow from his opponent in the fifth round with the referee allowing him time to recover. Replays, however, seemed to indicate that it was a legal shot to the body.
Dubois and his promoter Frank Warren have since claimed robbery and are looking to appeal the result.
In the meantime, everyone was waiting to see how Tyson Fury would respond. It took a while, but the WBC heavyweight champion finally took a dig at Usyk with a post on Instagram wearing his shorts for the upcoming Francis Ngannou boxing match well above his waist line.

The caption with #softbelly is likely a reference in two parts — “Greedy belly” is what Usyk usually calls Fury. However, Fury might be referring to Usyk having a soft belly that is prone to body shots.
Regardless, Usyk still remains champion and will be a keen observer when Fury takes on Ngannou in their crossover boxing match on Sept. 28.
Should Fury come out on top as expected, the plan is to once again negotiate a heavyweight title unification clash between him and Usyk. Warren also revealed that appealing the result for Dubois shouldn't affect a potential Fury vs. Usyk fight.
Fingers crossed.
