It was a disappointing season to a 13-3 campaign for the Green Bay Packers. Their season ended with a 37-20 loss in the NFC Championship Game. Despite their record, the Packers never felt like Super Bowl contenders because of their personnel.

The defense has been a huge problem in Green Bay and it is something they addressed prior to the 2019 season. They still struggled stopping the run but they had players who could get to the quarterback. On the offensive side of the ball, Aaron Rodgers did not have many weapons. Davante Adams led the team in receptions, yards, and touchdowns which was expected. Outside of him, the unit was weak.

Allen Lazard was the second leading pass catcher on the outside for the Packers, followed by Geronimo Allison and Marquez Valdes-Scantling. The 2020 NFL Draft is extremely deep with receiver talent and that is likely where the Packers will go. In addition, there will be some good fits for the team including Breshad Perriman.

Would Perriman fit with the Packers?

Perriman is a former first-round pick of the Baltimore Ravens. He spent three seasons with the team before moving on. Perriman has played for three teams in his five years. He has never reached his full potential but began to show signs at the end of 2019.

Perriman spent the end of the season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He finished with 100 or more yards in the final three games of the season and scored four touchdowns. Perriman is still just 26 years old. He is 6'3 and has great athleticism. His problem throughout his career has been his poor hands. Perriman played well enough to catch the eye of teams and Green bay could be an interesting landing spot.

Milt Hendrickson is the current personnel executive for the Packers. He spent time in Baltimore and was apart of the staff that drafted Perriman. Since he drafted the young receiver out of UCF and could still believe in his talent and high ceiling.

Perriman is in desperate need of a home. He has spent time in poor systems over the years and that is not the case in Green Bay. The Packers are a well run franchise coming off a 13 win season. Head coach Matt LaFleur got his feet wet and will be better in 2020. With No. 12 under center, Perriman could find success in LaFleur's system. He is a big receiver who has exceptional speed so he could be a deep ball threat as well as a red zone threat. Since Perriman will not be expensive, this could be a match for both sides.
