Melvin Gordon was one of the bright spots for the Denver Broncos' offense last season. Despite the offense being… well, not good, Gordon's stellar ground game kept the team afloat for most of the season. With Gordon's contract expiring this year, the franchise faces a major decision on their running back.

If it was up to Melvin Gordon, he'd rather stay a Bronco next year. The star Denver running back said that he believed this team was talented enough to make it deep next season. (via 247 Sports)

“I have been wanting to come back. I would love to win [a] championship in Denver… I made a lot of great relationships with the guys. I feel like we have a really good team. To leave a talented team and go somewhere else would suck.”

Gordon averaged around 4.5 yards per run last season, helping prop up a Broncos offense that was anemic at times. His running, along with Javonte Williams, bodes well for the future if they choose to rehaul their offense.

The running back position is not the only thing that needs to be addressed for the Broncos. The quarterback slot has been a problem for them in a bad way for a long time. Last season proved that Teddy Bridgewater and Drew Lock weren't enough to win games. With the franchise seemingly targeting big-name QBs like Aaron Gordon, we might see a revival of their offense.

If they do deem Williams a better prospect than the older Gordon, though, the Broncos might be inclined to let go of the latter. Still, Gordon believes he has what it takes to be an elite running back next year.
