Even though Tim Tebow played for the Denver Broncos for only two seasons, he left a long-lasting impact on Von Miller.

This past week, after Miller was named the winner of the Jefferson Award for Outstanding Public Service, he was asked about the honor, and he praised his former teammates for teaching him how to be a leader.

“I feel like I've said it a million times like the movie Spiderman,” Miller said (h/t BroncosWire). “Uncle Ben said, ‘With great power comes great responsibility,' and we have a huge platform. You have to be able to use that platform for the better. I've got a huge team around me.

“I had a lot of great examples come before me that really showed the way from Tim Tebow to Brian Dawkins, Champ Bailey, DeMarcus [Ware], and Peyton [Manning]. Peyton was one of the [award] winners a few years back. “To have some of these guys come before me and really show me the way it's incredible. It's incredible that I have a team around me that really help me put my vision out there to help the community.”

Nevertheless, there's no denying Miller has stepped up as a leader for the Broncos in the last couple of seasons. And as he said, if it weren't for former teammates, including Tebow, Miller wouldn't have been such an incredible leader for the Broncos.

Even off-the-field, Miller has been one of the most prominent players in the league that's been fighting against the ongoing systemic racial injustice and police brutality.
