The Cleveland Browns will square off with their division rival, the Baltimore Ravens, on Sunday. The Browns find themselves in last place in the AFC North. But that is not as much an indictment of the Browns as it is a statement about the depth of the division.

The AFC North is the only division in the NFL with all of its teams over .500. Baltimore leads the division at 7-3. However, a Browns win Sunday would bring them within a half game of first.

Yet, these teams feel like they are moving in opposite directions. The Browns are banged up and had to hold on to barely defeat the winless Detroit Lions in Week 11. Whereas, the Ravens are getting healthier and are coming off a come from behind win over the Chicago Bears without their Pro Bowl quarterback, Lamar Jackson.

Here are 4 bold predictions for the Cleveland Browns in their game vs the Baltimore Ravens Sunday night.

Browns Week 12 Predictions

4. Nick Chubb will be held under 80 yards rushing

Browns running back Nick Chubb has established himself as one of the best tailbacks in the league. He runs with power, speed and agility to hit the hole and make people miss. But Sunday night, he will struggle to find space to run through.

The Ravens defense has come on lately after allowing big plays early in the season. They rank 2nd in the NFL allowing only 88.6 yards per game on the ground. But the Ravens defense isn't the only reason Chubb will miss out on reaching 80 yards for only the second time this season.

Cleveland running back Kareem Hunt was designated to return from injured reserve Wednesday. While speaking to reporters, Hunt said “I'm definitely thinking I'm going to play (Sunday).”

Chubb has missed a game due to injury and another due to COVID. With the potential return of Hunt into the mix, as well as the effectiveness of D'Ernest Johnson, it would make sense for the Browns to utilize all three in this pivotal game. That limits the touches for Chubb which in turn affects his statistics.

3. Myles Garrett will set the Browns single season sacks record

Browns defensive end Myles Garrett leads the NFL in sacks with 13 this season. Last week was the first game since Week 2 that Garrett did not record a sack.

Reggie Camp set the franchise record with 14 sacks back in 1984. Garrett's career single season high is 13 1/2, so both are in reach Sunday.

Meanwhile, the Ravens have struggled to protect up front. Lamar Jackson has been sacked 28 times this season. That is tied for the 3rd most in the NFL this season. Part of those numbers come from Jackson trying to use his athleticism to escape pressure instead of the throwing the ball away. But it still adds up to a sack either way.

2. The Browns defense will create 2 or more turnovers

Cleveland's defense ranks 4th in the NFL this season in yards allowed. They lead the AFC with 29 sacks. Outside of the games against Arizona and New England, their defense has played very well. It has not translated to turnovers just yet. They only have 10 takeaways this season, among the league's worst.

It's only a matter of time though. I expect Lamar Jackson to be under pressure for most of the night. The last time we saw Jackson was the Thursday night game against Miami. He was running for his life all game with Miami's blitz-heavy scheme.

The Browns will not need to blitz as often, but should still get home. That will force Jackson to miss some throws and turn the ball over.

1. Kevin Stefanski will bench Baker Mayfield in place of Case Keenum

With so much riding on this game, head coach Kevin Stefanski will have to try everything he can to get the win. That includes a change at quarterback.

Last week, Browns starting quarterback Baker Mayfield played poorly once again, and declined to talk to the press afterward.

It then was reported that there has been a rift between Stefanski and Mayfield. More details came to light on all of the injuries that Mayfield has been playing through. Mayfield has been playing hurt with a torn labrum, and also knee and heel injuries.

Obviously, it would be difficult to make all of the throws you are accustomed to making when dealing with those types of injuries. But Coach Stefanski's job is not to appreciate how much Mayfield is laying on the line. His job is to coach his team to a win.

Ravens head coach John Harbaugh has had the Browns' number since arriving. He is 22-4 vs the Browns and 17-2 in PrimeTime games since joining Baltimore. At some point in the 2nd half and the Browns offense struggling to get anything going, I expect Kevin Stefanski to make the change to quarterback Case Keenum.

In his lone start this season, Keenum played well in a win vs Denver. So, Stefanski probably has some level of confidence in his backup quarterback. Ultimately, it will probably not matter though.
