Jerome Ford exited the Cleveland Browns-Indianapolis Colts game on Sunday in Week 7 with an apparent injury. On Monday it was revealed that Ford suffered a low grade, high ankle sprain and will miss one-two weeks, per Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Ford has helped to replace Nick Chubb along with Kareem Hunt at the running back position. He has performed well this season, and Cleveland is certainly hopeful he can return as soon as possible. Injuries have unfortunately been far too problematic for this Browns team in 2023.

Jerome Ford and the Browns injury concerns

Jerome Ford's injury is just the latest ailment for the Browns. QB Deshaun Watson was dealing with an injury of his own prior to Sunday's game. Although Cleveland earned a 39-38 victory over the Colts, Watson exited early due to a potential concussion. He ended up clearing concussion protocol but still did not re-enter the contest.

Kareem Hunt was questionable up until Sunday's game as well. The Browns' depth is being tested in a major way with Chubb already out for the season. Cleveland has Pierre Strong Jr. on the roster and they recently signed Deon Jackson as well.

With Watson's injury status up in the air and Ford likely out, the Browns will need all hands on deck in Week 8 against the Seattle Seahawks.

That said, Cleveland has done a tremendous job of rolling with the punches. They currently hold a 4-2 record are tied for second place in the AFC North. 2023 hasn't been smooth sailing for the Browns but they are finding ways to take care of business. Perhaps Cleveland can continue winning despite their injury woes.

We will continue to monitor and provide updates on Jerome Ford's injury status ahead of the Browns-Seahawks Week 8 affair.
