The Cleveland Browns made a splash with the acquisition of former New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. this NFL offseason. It appears even former Browns left tackle Joe Thomas is excited about the move.

There is plenty of hype surrounding Beckham's arrival in Cleveland. Thomas said during an appearance on NFL Total Access that the city is brimming with excitement:

“I'm just blown away. The moves that John Dorsey has been able to make in just a couple of years as general manager. Flipping that entire organization is just jaw-dropping,” Thomas said. “They better have the firefighters on standby because that city is about to burn down. That is a Browns town and they can feel it.”

There is certainly plenty of truth to Thomas' comments. He knows more than anyone what this team means to the city of Cleveland after spending 11 years of his illustrious career there. Despite all their struggles during his time there, it seems the Browns are still king when it comes to the sports hierarchy.

They enjoyed a bit of a resurgence in the 2018 NFL season. Their blockbuster moves this offseason have only added to their high expectations moving forward. All eyes will be fixated on quarterback Baker Mayfield and what he does with his new star duo of pass-catchers.

The Browns' sudden improvement has also raised questions about Thomas' retirement status. It is safe to say he wishes Dorsey had arrived just a few years earlier to help him end his career on a high note.
