Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Antonio Brown has been in the headlines a lot over the past years. On Friday, the news came out that the truck driver from an incident back in January of 2020 was filing a civil lawsuit. Now, Brown's representatives released a statement expressing their disappointment, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

The timing of the lawsuit is a bit peculiar, especially after Brown and the Bucs won a Super Bowl in February and the veteran re-signed back in Tampa Bay as they brought back all 22 of their starters.

The original case was settled last year and Brown served an eight-game suspension to start last season, partially due to the incident regarding the truck driver. Now the driver is filing a civil suit and is hoping to get some money thrown his way, with Brown and his attorney expressing their frustration and disappointment.

They also expressed “economic motivation” and are under the impression that is the sole reason he is filing the civil suit, which seems likely. Regardless, Brown's name resurfacing in legal issues don't bode well for his representation and his effort to revitalize his career after suffering a suspension and bouncing around the league before finding a home with the Buccaneers.

This will definitely be a story to keep an eye on as the proceedings go further and only time will tell whether or not the driver gets what he wants most- lots of cash.
