The Tampa Bay Buccaneers' ability to add talent has much to do with Tom Brady. While the ageless quarterback keeps going strong, the connections he has made over the years give the Bucs a strong draw to free agents. The latest example is with safety Logan Ryan, who played with Brady on the New England Patriots and should bolster the Bucs' defense.

Longtime Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman used April Fools' Day to take advantage of the schtick of Brady's friends joining him in Tampa Bay. He posted a fake image showing that he signed with the Bucs. Although he included a disclaimer that he was joking in the picture, it's a somewhat believable joke.

Edelman unretiring to join the Buccaneers wouldn't be the craziest thing in the world. His connection with Brady was as potent as any QB-WR connection in recent memory. They worked out together recently, which gave some legs to the idea that the 35-year-old Edelman would come back. So far, though, that hasn't happened.

Brady and Edelman played for a decade in New England. Edelman became one of Brady's favorite targets and pieced together three 1,000-yard seasons. While bringing him wouldn't hurt, the Buccaneers have plenty of wide receivers with Mike Evans, Chris Godwin and Russell Gage. Edelman could fill in for Godwin while he recovers from an ACL tear, but his best days are undoubtedly behind him.

Tampa Bay will head into next season as the favorites to win the NFC South. Just how many of Brady's buddies will be along for the ride remains to be seen.
