Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson has seemingly been the subject of trade rumors all season long, despite the storm cloud of legal troubles above him. Most recently, the Texans star quarterback's name has been linked to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who are in need of a signal-caller following the retirement of Tom Brady. Despite the comments from Watson's agent, these Buccaneers rumors aren't going anywhere. Amid the Watson trade rumors, old quotes from the Texans star on Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians resurfaced, via PewterReport.

“I like Bruce,” Watson said. “That’s my guy. I’ve known Bruce. He used to come around, especially [with] Dabo (Swinney) [in Clemson]. When we had a couple of games in Arizona when he was still the coach there. He’s always been a fan of mine. And I’ve always been a fan of his, and we communicated. That’s pretty dope from a legendary coach like him. It gives me a lot of confidence and a lot of momentum and motivation to keep striving to be great.”

Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson didn't hold back with his praise of then-Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians, who had said that he would have drafted Watson. The Texans star said that the Buccaneers head coach is “his guy” and that they've always been fans of each other.

That certainly won't make the Watson trade rumors to Tampa Bay die down. Arians and the Buccaneers certainly haven't been afraid to bring in players with checkered pasts- see Antonio Brown- so the Texans star's legal issues certainly wouldn't put a stop to their interest.

Texans star Deshaun Watson and Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians had a lot of respect for each other back in 2019. The question is, do they still?
