After the Milwaukee Bucks' win over the Minnesota Timberwolves last Tuesday, 139-112. Giannis Antetokounmpo had a genuine and emotional encounter with his Minnesota Timberwolves counterpart Karl-Anthony Towns.

Towns is reeling from the tragic loss of six of his family members, including his mother, last year due to COVID-19. To make matters worse, he himself was afflicted with the virus.  Regarding the death of Towns' mother, Antetokounmpo commented that he had a similar situation four years ago when his father, to whom he was very close, passed away.

Giannis is playing at an extremely high-level and is set to start in another All-Star Game. Entering Tuesday's game, he has been averaging 28.6 points, 11.8 boards, six assists, 1.3 steals, and 1.3 blocks per outing. His All-Star teammate in Bucks guard Jrue Holiday has not played since Feb. 6, due to the league's health and safety protocols. This means that he and Khris Middleton have had to do more heavy lifting as expected.

Towns has missed many games this season and even had a wrist injury, but he is quickly beginning to play like his old self again.

Antetokounmpo and Towns' playstyles could not be any more different. The Bucks star is almost unstoppable when driving to the basket and a force on the defensive end, while the latter is one of the best, shooting big-men we have ever seen and a capable rim-protector.

The two are friends and Towns commended Giannis for reaching out to him during the challenging times. It's actions like these that show Antetokounmpo is also an MVP off the court.
