It may still be early days in the Milwaukee Bucks‘ offseason, but they are already planning ahead and have turn their attention to re-signing two of their key players.

After a promising season, where they made the playoffs and even won two games against the third-seeded Toronto Raptors in the first round, the team's general manager, John Hammond, made it known to the Associated Press via the Star Tribune, that they have intentions to keep Tony Snell and Greg Monroe in their fold next season.

Snell landed in Milwaukee when he became part of the trade for Michael Carter-Williams. In his first season with the team, he averaged 8.5 points, including 40.6 percent from beyond the arc, 3.1 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game. Hammond talked about seeing a lot of potential in him, and also said that he thinks the 25-year-old New Mexico product wants to stay put.

“He's an outstanding guy and a guy we want to have as part of our team moving forward. He's about the right things. I think Tony wants to be here. We're hoping to bring him back. We're planning on him being with us next season.”

Monroe on the other hand has a player option on the final year of his contract worth $17.8 million, and could make his decision until June 22nd. Hammond admitted that they want him back, but respects him taking his time before letting the organization know of his decision.

“You try to have a professional approach and have complete respect for the player. You don't put him in a compromising position that would be unfair for him to answer. At this time, it is a time to let Greg settle in and let him make the decision he feels is best for him.”

Both players won't be lacking suitors in free agency should it come to that point. However, with the young core the Bucks have coupled with their success this season, Snell and Monroe could very well remain in Milwaukee and continue building on what they have started this year.
