Chicago Bulls shooting guard Zach LaVine has a few things in common with Minnesota Timberwolves point guard Derrick Rose.
LaVine and Rose have both suffered ACL injuries, and played for the Bulls and Timberwolves. Rose, of course, began his NBA career with the Bulls and became the youngest MVP in league history back in 2011. The former MVP now plays for the Timberwolves.
LaVine was drafted by Minnesota, but was traded to the Bulls in the summer of 2017 in the Jimmy Butler trade. The high-flyer is having a great start to the season. He's the only player in the NBA to score at least 20 points in every game this year.
Derrick Rose has endured four knee surgeries, but he's still one of the most explosive players in the game. In fact, Zach LaVine believes D-Rose is one of the 10 fastest players in the NBA, with him being in the top-three.

“Hell yeah, Derrick Rose is still probably top 10 fastest in the NBA”

Derrick Rose, who scored a career-high 50 points against the Utah Jazz, is having a good year with Minnesota so far. In 13 games, Rose is averaging 19.2 points, 3.5 rebounds and 4.8 assists while shooting 45.7 percent from the field, 48.8 percent from beyond the arc and 82.7 percent from the free-throw line.
Zach LaVine, meanwhile, is now filling the role that Rose used to play with the Bulls: The alpha dog in Chicago. In 14 games, LaVine is averaging 27.1 points, 5.2 rebounds and 4.0 assists and shooting 44.8 percent from the floor, 32.6 percent from the 3-point line and 86.2 percent from the charity stripe.
Both Rose and LaVine look comfortable in their new surroundings. There's a chance we could see D-Rose and LaVine in the All-Star game if they keep up their stellar play.
