Chicago Bulls point guard Kris Dunn took a nasty fall to the floor during their game at home against the defending champion Golden State Warriors.
Down 112-105, the Bulls were rallying with only 2:57 left in the fourth quarter and Dunn was about to narrow the gap. He stole the ball from Warriors shooting guard Klay Thompson, going a full head of steam for a fastbreak dunk. But that’s when the unthinkable happened.
After dunking the ball with both hands, Dunn let go of the rim at an awkward position as his momentum was still pushing him forward. He fell face first on the United Center floor and was unable to get back up on defense afterward.

Shaken and bloodied from the accident, Dunn was attended to by the Bulls’ medical staff after play was stopped when Chicago had to take a foul. He was down for about five minutes before he was able to get up and walk.

He was soon escorted to the locker room as the fans applauded.
Dunn wouldn’t play anymore but he finished with 16 points, five rebounds, four assists, and three steals. The Bulls would eventually lose the game to the Warriors 119-112. If the Bulls had Dunn for the remainder of the game, the outcome could have been different.
After the game, the Bulls' official Twitter account sent out an update on Dunn's status.
