Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald's numbers haven't jumped off the page the last few years, but he has been solid, and that's what ESPN is projecting to happen again in 2019. Last season, Fitzgerald finished catching 69 passes for 734 yards and six touchdowns

There was some speculation that Fitzgerald might hang up the cleats after the 2019 season, but he has decided to come back for at least one more year, and the stats are projected to be almost identical. ESPN projects 68 receptions for 754 yards and six touchdowns. The expectation is that he will have 20 more receiving yards, but finish with one less touchdown.

There are a couple of moving parts to look at with these projections and why they are expected to be almost identical. Some might argue that Fitzgerald will have a better quarterback in Kyler Murray throwing him the ball and they will have all offseason working together.

Last season, Fitzgerald had all offseason to work with Josh Rosen, but he was expected to be the backup quarterback at that point. Putting that into consideration, it would seem he might actually have a better year, but the wide receiver room also got a lot better this offseason.

The Cardinals drafted Hakeem Butler and Andy Isabella, who are both expected to be counted on this season. The team also signed Kevin White, who was a disappointment with the Chicago Bears, but is a former seventh overall pick.

Those guys on the roster could cut into Fitzgerald's productivity, but most importantly for this season if he can help them adjust to being NFL receivers those lessons might be most important.
