Social media star Baylen Levine bears a resemblance to Devon Bostick, who played Rodrick in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid movies. Zachary Gordon, who played the lead role of Greg in those films, met up with Levine for an epic collaboration.
In a social media post from Gordon, he is seen with Levine. Gordon is leaning up against a white van with the iconic Löded Diper logo on it. Two more images are shared of Gordon and Levine. The post concludes with Gordon and Bostick from the Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules film.
“Linked up w/ Rodrick's doppelgänger,” Gordon's caption read.

Rodrick doppelgänger Baylen Levine is a social media star with over 4.6 million subscribers on YouTube. He is known for his viral prank videos. He also made a post with Gordon.
There were some different images and videos. In one video, Levine pulls up with the Löded Diper van and introduces Gordon as his brother Greg. In a different photo, the two are seen hovering above a slice of cheese on the ground, a clear reference to the Diary of a Wimpy Kid's “cheese touch” bit.
Diary of a Wimpy Kid movies
Beginning in 2010, Jeff Kinney's Diary of a Wimpy Kid franchise began getting depicted on the big screen. At that point, Kinney had already written four installments in the franchise at that point. In total, 19 books have been written in the main series. Rowley Jefferson, Greg's best friend in the books, has also received his spin-off series of books.
The first Diary of a Wimpy Kid movie was released on March 19, 2010. Thor Freudenthal directed the film which grossed over $70 million at the box office. That was good enough to warrant a sequel being made and released just over a year later on March 25, 2011.
The second film, Rodrick Rules, adapted the second book in the series. Despite bringing in a new director, David Bowers, it largely retained most of the first film's cast including Gordon, Devon Bostick, Robert Capron, Rachael Harris, and Steve Zahn. However, Peyton List was introduced into the series in this film.
A third film, Dog Days, was released in 2012. This was the final time that Zachary Gordon, Bostick, Capron, Harris, Zahn, and List starred in a film in the series. Unfortunately, in the books, Greg never had to age. In real life, all of the actors began outgrowing their roles.
This led to a reboot of the series in 2017, The Long Haul. Bowers did return to direct, marking his third film in the franchise, but a whole new cast was introduced. The Long Haul was not a success, grossing just $40 million on a $22 million budget. Since then, the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series has stayed off of the big screen.
Going animated
Since 20th Century Fox was acquired by Disney, the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series has gone animated. Disney+ has begun adapting the films in animated form. To date, three of them have been released, the most recent being Cabin Fever in 2023.
