The Los Angeles Chargers are preparing for a Week 16 matchup with the Houston Texans just as many fantasy football managers are preparing for the championship round in their respective leagues. Chargers star running back Austin Ekeler, likely a staple of many fantasy teams, is on the reserve/COVID list and his status for the Week 16 game is very much in question.

In an appearance on Ekeler's Edge, the star halfback's fantasy football show with Yahoo Sports' Liz Loza, Ekeler offered his fantasy football managers some advice that they may want to heed.

For insight on the Chargers' Week 16 matchup against the Texans, listen below:

So, Buffalo Bills tight end Dawson Knox has Chargers running back Austin Ekeler on his fantasy team. Ekeler told Knox- and his other fantasy football managers- that they may want to go and pick up his backup, Justin Jackson, since he is on the COVID list.

It's not the first time that Ekeler has looked out for his fantasy football managers, as he gave managers the green light earlier in the year when he was listed as questionable by inserting himself in his own fantasy lineup.

The Chargers star wouldn't lie to his fantasy football managers as an avid fantasy player himself. So, while Ekeler didn't explicitly say that he's out, he has advised managers to go out and have a backup plan in the event that he's unable to suit up in Week 16.

Ok, fantasy managers, you heard the man! Go check the waiver wire for Chargers star Austin Ekeler's backup, Justin Jackson, or whatever backup plan makes the most sense.
