Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert will be entering his third NFL season in 2023. Having yet to make the playoffs, expectations are big for the star QB in Year 3. Chargers starting center Corey Linsley has high praises for Herbert, even comparing him to Packers star Aaron Rodgers.

A fifth-round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, Linsley spent his first seven seasons with the Packers as a teammate of Rodgers. Linsley signed a five-year, $62.5 million deal with the Chargers last offseason. He's already proved his worth, as he made his first career Pro Bowl this season.

In other words, Linsley knows what he's talking about in regards to Herbert and Rodgers, having played with both. He compared several traits of Herbert to being similar to Rodgers, including his competitiveness. Just 24 years old, the center also mentioned Herbert's desire to be the best.

While he's yet to make the playoffs, the Oregon product seems to be on the ascension toward being a superstar. After winning Rookie of the Year in 2020, he then made his first career Pro Bowl team last season. On the year, he threw for 5,014 yards with 41 total touchdowns. In the offseason, Herbert's gotten up to 245 pounds and added some muscle in the process.

Chargers fans would surely take a career reminiscent of Aaron Rodgers from their quarterback. While he's got a ways to go, the trajectory seems to be heading into stardom for the next 10+ years. The Chargers will need that level of performance from him if they are to live up to their immense preseason expectations.
