The Los Angeles Chargers could play their third game of the season without one of its main defensive players on their corner. Defensive end Melvin Ingram is currently nursing a knee injury and will most likely be unavailable for their upcoming game against the Carolina Panthers.

The South Carolina product managed to contribute two tackles and an interception in their 16-13 opening game victory against the Cincinnati Bengals. He went on to play in their second matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs but failed to record a statistic in the game.

Ingram is still looking to record his first sack of the season after tallying at least seven sacks in each of the previous five seasons. Despite not logging huge numbers in the stat sheet thus far, his presence on the defensive end has definitely made life harder for opposing quarterbacks Joe Burrow and Patrick Mahomes.

Another prolific defensive end in Joey Bosa is also recovering from a triceps injury sustained in Week 1 but has already participated in practice all week. The Chargers are also going up against a Panthers side which recently lost running back Christian McCaffrey due to a high ankle sprain and will continue to be out for several weeks.

Despite losing their main scoring option, the team led by quarterback Teddy Bridgewater will not be going down without a fight as they already find themselves in a 0-2 hole early in the season. Both teams will clash on September 27 as the Panthers visit the Chargers for Week 3 proceedings.
