The Los Angeles Chargers suffered another bitter loss — this time to the Kansas City Chiefs — that could have easily gone the other way. Philip Rivers is finding himself on the wrong end of the story often, and this puts into question whether he's still got what it takes to succeed as a quarterback in the NFL.

ESPN Stats & Info seem s to disagree with that idea. They published a tweet that was basically a hit on his capabilities as a quarterback this season.

The reason why teams have two-minute drills is to help them get used to the speed of the and snag the win in such close situations. The fact that he hasn't performed well this season is an open advertisement for opponents to pressure him in the pocket.

What makes this more disappointing is the fact that many of their losses were separated by only a couple of points. For example, their Week 8 duel against the Chicago Bears was one of the most frustrating defeats for Chargers fans. Rivers managed to throw one passing touchdown, but his 201 passing yards didn't help them get over the hump.

Rivers will be a free agent this coming season as it doesn't seem like the Chargers will pick up his contract. With his future still uncertain, the 38-year-old will reportedly consider his options during the offseason to see if he'll still give it one more shot.

Of course, he's still a decent enough QB that he can make the roster of any football team, but he's clearly no longer a starter for most NFL teams. It's very likely that he will continue on, but his performances this season has some Chargers fans asking him to just leave.
