Philip Rivers has had a long and successful NFL career with the Los Angeles Chargers. While he has been successful, he has not had much playoff success over the years. Unfortunately, he won't have the chance to play in the postseason this year after the Chargers put together an incredibly disappointing season.

Following the team's rough loss to the Oakland Raiders in Week 16, Rivers talked about his future and whether he is done playing in the NFL after this season. The answer is probably what you were all expecting.

In a quote shared by ESPN, Rivers opened up about wanting to continue playing moving forward.

“I'm capable enough physically and mentally, there's no question. Yes, I do want to play football. I do, and that's how I feel deep down as I stand here.”

There have been some rumblings that the Chargers may look to move on from Rivers this offseason. If that does end up being the case, there are quite a few teams that could use a quarterback of his caliber. Seeing him in a jersey other than a Chargers' jersey would be strange, but it might happen.

So far this season through 15 games, Rivers has thrown for 4,334 yards, 21 touchdowns, and 18 interceptions. His turnover numbers have been too high, but Rivers still feels like he is physically capable of making big plays.

Expect to see Rivers come back for another season in 2020. Whether that is with the Chargers or another team, we will have to wait to find out.
