Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert has already set several records in his short time in the NFL, and he may be in line to reach another such feat.

Herbert comes into the Chargers' Week 14 home matchup against the New York Giants with 27 passing touchdowns on the season. With five contests remaining in the campaign, Herbert should at the least surpass his touchdown passes total from his rookie year; he tallied for 31 such touchdowns over 15 games played in 2020.

More so, Herbert is currently a mere three passing touchdowns away from becoming the first player in NFL history to record at least 30 touchdown passes in each of his first two seasons in the league.

This sure would be quite an accomplishment for the former Oregon Ducks star considering that the likes of Peyton Manning and Joe Montana were not able to achieve this feat during their respective Pro Football Hall of Fame careers.

Overall, Herbert has recorded at least three passing touchdowns in five different games so far in the year. Thus, it should not be a tall task for him to notch a trio of passing touchdowns against the Giants. More so, he is also a mere eight touchdown passes away from setting the record for the most such scores in a season in Chargers franchise history, so the upcoming weeks could be historic ones for him.

The Chargers will aim to maintain their current standing in the AFC playoff picture with a possible win over the Giants.
