The Los Angeles Chargers list of targets for the team's head coaching vacancy just keeps on growing. The latest reported addition to the pool of potential candidates? Urban Meyer.

“Hearing that the #Chargers also have some interest in Urban Meyer for their head coaching vacancy,” Bruce Feldman of Fox Sports tweeted on Tuesday.

Los Angeles fired Anthony Lynn on Monday following a 7-9 season.

With Meyer in the mix, here's the updated and lengthy list of names who have been associated with the Chargers job, per Jeff Miller of the Los Angeles Times:

The Chargers asked to interview Los Angeles Rams defensive coordinator Brandon Staley, Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy, Carolina Panthers OC Joe Brady, Buffalo Bills OC Brian Daboll, Indianapolis Colts DC Matt Eberflus, San Francisco 49ers DC Robert Saleh, and Tennessee Titans OC Arthur Smith.

The Chargers also have plans to meet with New York Giants OC Jason Garrett.

The Chargers know that Meyer, who won three national championships between stints at Florida and Ohio State, is reportedly at the top of the Jacksonville Jaguars' list of coaching targets, too.

Meyer amassed an 82–9 record at Ohio State. The 56-year old retired in 2018 after the Buckeyes defeated Washington in the Rose Bowl.

Whoever gets the Chargers gig will inherit rookie sensation Justin Herbert. The 22-year old looked like a franchise QB in his first season, setting a new rookie record for touchdown passes (31).

In addition to the Jags and Chargers, the New York Jets, Atlanta Falcons, Houston Texans, and Detroit Lions enter the offseason with head coaching vacancies.
