Despite being less than stellar in 2019, Philip Rivers has still been the Los Angeles Chargers' starting quarterback for the last decade-plus. And with the news that Rivers and the team have mutually agreed to part ways this offseason, the Chargers wanted to do what they could to honor one of the best players in the franchises' history.

The Chargers posted a heartfelt tribute video to the 38-year-old quarterback on Twitter detailing Rivers' time with the franchise.

Los Angeles (then San Diego) acquired Rivers on a draft-day trade with the New York Giants all the way back in 2004 and since 2006, Rivers has been the man under center for the Chargers.

In his 15 seasons with the team, the former NC State star made eight Pro Bowls, threw for nearly 400 passing touchdowns and has eclipsed 4,000 passing yards in 11 of his 13 seasons as the starter.

Last season, however, despite throwing for 4,615 yards and 23 touchdowns, Rivers threw 20 interceptions while the Chargers crawled to a 5-11 record after making the playoffs the season prior.

With Rivers now a free agent, the Chargers will likely either pursue another quarterback in free agency or draft one with the sixth overall pick in the upcoming draft.
