Los Angeles Chargers offensive tackle Russel Okung displayed his funny side in their Sunday night showdown against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

In the players' introduction of SNF on NBC, the ninth-year player humorously stated that ā€œWakanda Techā€ is his alma mater.

Obviously, that's not true, and Wakanda Tech does not even exist in the real world.

Wakanda is a fictional place in sub-Saharan Africa created by Marvel Comics. It is the setting of the superhero movie Black Panther which was released earlier this year.

Okung, along with other NFL players, hosted screenings of this film for children.

In case this is true, he'll be the school's first-ever NFL player. And no wonder his schoolmates will be proud of what he has done in the league since 2010.

Okung is a product of Oklahoma State University. His stay there was memorable as he received several awards while playing for the offensive tackle position during his NCAA days.

This included the Jim Parker Trophy in 2009, the Big 12 Offensive Lineman of the Year, also in 2009 and the Dick Bogert award in 2006.

His strong play in college translated into the pros and has been named to the Pro Bowl twice. Above all, he is a pivotal member of the Seattle Seahawks team that finally won their first Super Bowl in 2014.

After a brief sting with the Denver Broncos in 2016, Okung made a jump to his current team, the Chargers. There he earned a Pro Bowl selection last year, his second overall.

As of this writing, the Chargers hold an 8-3 record and hope to make it to the playoffs for the first time since 2013.
