Colin Cowherd didn't mince words or use a circumlocution to make his feelings known: The talk-show host believes that Patrick Mahomes is the most dynamic player in the NFL.

Patrick Mahomes was the 10th overall pick by the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2017 NFL Draft. He sat and learned behind Alex Smith in his rookie season before being handed the job in 2018.

In his first season as a full-time starter, he completed 66 percent of his passes for 5,097 yards, and 50 touchdowns. Those 50 touchdowns passes were the most by any quarterback last season.

It is not surprising that Mahomes is considered to be the most dynamic player in pro football. He can scramble and escape pressure with the best of them. He can complete a pass on the most craziest of throws. He has the strongest arm in the NFL and has all the traits any team would want in a franchise quarterback.

Aaron Rodgers has had his moments, completing incredible Hail Mary passes. Despite always being in consideration as the best quarterback in the NFL, he has won only one Super Bowl. With leaky pass protection and inconsistent weapons around him, Rodgers was exposed and didn't look like an MVP quarterback last season. Mahomes took his team to an AFC Championship Game in his first year as a starter.

He won the NFL's Most Valuable Player Award in 2018 for a reason. Not many quarterbacks who played in an air raid offense in college had much success in the NFL. For Mahomes, his college success has translated well. His baseball resume and athleticism closely resemble Russell Wilson. His touch on the ball and accuracy remind me and others of Aaron Rodgers.

Mahomes will continue to be the most dynamic quarterback for many more years to come.
