According to NFL Insider Ian Rapoport, Kansas City Chiefs defensive end Alex Okafor may have suffered a torn pectoral muscle in the team's last game against the Denver Broncos.

The former fourth-round pick spent the first six years of his career with the Arizona Cardinals and New Orleans Saints, racking up 22 sacks during that time.

This offseason, Okafor signed a three-year, $18 million contract with the Kansas City. Okafor has helped the Chiefs replace the pass rushing production of Dee Ford who compiled 13 sacks last year with the team, but ended up with the San Francisco 49ers this offseason.

An MRI will be performed on Okafor to confirm the injury, but if it is in fact a torn pectoral, the Chiefs' free agent addition's season is likely done. Okafor would join fellow Chiefs defensive end Emmanuel Ogbah, who suffered the same injury earlier this season.

Okafor's five sacks on the season is fourth on the team behind defensive tackle Chris Jones, Frank Clark, and Ogbah.

Behind Okafor on the Chiefs' depth chart is second-year pass rusher Demone Harris who the team picked up on November 21 after he was released by both the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Baltimore Ravens.

Kansas City's 39 sacks on the season ranks 11th in the NFL, but the team ranks in the bottom half of the league in terms of yards allowed.

The Chiefs will end their season against the Chicago Bears and then a home matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers. At 10-4, the Chiefs have already locked up an AFC West title for the fourth straight year.
