Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has attained yet another significant accomplishment in the early stages of his career. He is now the all-time leader in passer rating, both in the regular season and playoffs, breaking the record in just his fourth season in the league, as per Pro Football Talk.

The statistic takes into account several areas which include the quarterback's completion percentage, yards per pass, touchdowns, and interceptions. In order to qualify for the regular season record, a quarterback is required to have thrown at least 1,500 passes in his career.

In the 2020 NFL season, Mahomes has already exceeded the mark with a total of 1,687 passes. The number accounts for a 108.7 passer rating, which puts him ahead of Deshaun Watson (104.5), Aaron Rodgers (103.9), Russell Wilson (101.7), and Drew Brees (98.7).

Meanwhile, in the postseason, Mahomes is currently accounting for a career passer rating of 106.6, which requires a minimum of 150 thrown passes. He surpassed Green Bay Packers legend Bart Starr who previously held the record of having a 104.8 passer rating in the postseason.

The solid play of Mahomes under center was also beneficial for his team as the Chiefs are now heading to the AFC Championship Game against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. They will once again rely on their star quarterback in the all-important game as they aim to inch closer towards defending their Super Bowl LIV title this season.

Nowadays, quarterbacks are now more efficient on the field and their respective passer ratings are expected to rise in the years to come. Breaking the all-time passer rating record only speaks volumes of Patrick Mahomes' capabilities and his current status as amongthe best quarterbacks in the league today.
