Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes gave fans a huge sigh of relief after he appeared in his postgame presser following a scary hit against the Tennessee Titans.

The fact that Mahomes did his media availability just means one thing: he is fine now amid fears of concussion.

Mahomes said as much during his talk with the reporters, noting that he is doing well now and should be available for their Week 8 showdown with the New York Giants. The Chiefs star also explained why it took him some time before he got up following the scary hit.

“I feel fine now. Y'all saw the hit. I took my time getting up, but I felt fine. I did everything I needed to do to be here,” Mahomes said, per Nate Taylor of The Athletic.

Patrick Mahomes left the game against the Titans in the fourth quarter after he was kneed in the head. It came after a Titans defender caught his right foot, causing him to fall. As he was falling, another Tennessee player came running at him, only to knee his head.

The 26-year-old signal-caller stayed down for quite a while before he was sent to the sideline medical tent to be checked. He was eventually ruled out for the rest of the contest that saw the Titans get away with a 27-3 blowout victory.

For what it's worth, head coach Andy Reid confirmed after the game that Mahomes has cleared concussion protocols and is doing better now.
