The Kansas City Chiefs will be taking on the pesky Indianapolis Colts on Sunday Night Football in Week 5. As a result of the looming AFC clash, the Chiefs will not be forced to play without one of the team's biggest weapons along the outside in wide receiver Sammy Watkins after all.

It was announced an hour before kickoff that Watkins would be active for evening matchup at Kansas City's Arrowhead Stadium. Prior to such news becoming official on Sunday evening, Watkins went through a pre-game workout in the presence of team trainer Rick Burkholder while the veteran pass-catcher was notably listed as questionable on the Chiefs' final injury report of the week due to both hamstring and shoulder injuries.

While Watkins has already had quite the season for the surging Chiefs, the former Buffalo Bills and Los Angeles Rams wideout has been forced into an even bigger role for the AFC West franchise and fellow Kansas City wide receiver Tyreek Hill remains sidelined with some injury trouble of his own.

Seemingly taking advantage of his new role in Kansas City, Watkins will need to put up some serious numbers on Sunday Night Football if the Chiefs are going to win yet another game. Although the Colts are notably without former franchise quarterback Andrew Luck, who abruptly retired before the start of the 2019-20 regular season, Indianapolis still possesses a dominant defensive unit that can limit Watkins and company.

The Chiefs will enter the team's Week 5 contest against the 2-2 Colts at a perfect 4-0 on the season.
