Kansas City Chiefs running back Spencer Ware is officially active for the team's AFC Championship battle with the New England Patriots.
Ware has not played since Week 14, but after being removed from the Chiefs' injury report, it seemed likely that he would be ready for the huge showdown against the Patriots.
And sure enough, he's set to be active for Sunday's matchup, according to Patriots beat writer Kevin Duffy.
Ware has played an important role for Kansas City this season after he was forced to take over for former starter Kareem Hunt, who was released by the franchise due to his off-the-field incident.
Damien Williams has stepped up big since Ware's injury, but now Andy Reid will be able to use his entire backfield when it comes to trying to outscore the Patriots.
Even with cold temperatures in the forecast, this still feels like a game that will be decided by the effectiveness of each team's offense. And with Patrick Mahomes and Tom Brady leading the way for their respective teams, points shouldn't be hard to come by.
Getting Ware back in the mix will undoubtedly allow Reid to be even more creative with the Chiefs' offensive attack, and that will likely force the Patriots to have one of their best games to keep up.
