Travis Kelce and Tyreek Hill aren't fair, man. Both guys are one of the top players in their respective positions. Teaming up on the Kansas City Chiefs with a quarterback like Patrick Mahomes? That's just overkill. The Chiefs are blessed with two ultra-talented receivers for their superstar quarterback to play with.
Kelce and Hill's talents were on full display against the Chargers on Thursday night. The Chiefs duo became the first pair of players to have ten catches and 100 receiving yards on the same game. (via ESPN Stats and Info)
Against the Chargers, Hill and Kelce balled out for the Chiefs. Tyreek Hill had 12 catches for 148 yards, including one touchdown. The real star of the show, though, was Travis Kelce. The All-Pro tight end caught 10 passes for 191 yards and two touchdowns, including one in overtime that won the game for the Chiefs (and hyped up everyone in the NFL in the process).
After being down 10 – 14 after the first half, Mahomes, Hill, and Kelce brought the Chiefs back in striking distance against the Chargers. Los Angeles, who are also jockeying for position in the wild card race, brought the fight to them, resulting in an epic clash that felt like a playoff game than a regular-season one.
With this win, the Chiefs move up to 10 – 4, earning sole possession of first place in the AFC for the time being. After a rocky start, the team has settled back into their previous form, thanks to their All-Pro duo and their superstar quarterback. Sporting a seven-game winning streak, is it finally time to say that the Chiefs are back?
